Billy Ray Cyrus’ daughter, Miley Cyrus, could not have been more supportive as she opened up about his new romance with Elizabeth Hurley. The 32-year-old singer shared her thoughts during a recent interview with The New York Times. She stated that she could now see her dad “finding happiness.” The former Disney star also stated that she’s “being an adult about it.”

Miley continued to explain that it is “hard” at first because “the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, ‘Yes, that’s your dad, but that’s just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.'” However, she noted that her “child self has caught up.” The singer also candidly shared that she has been “respecting” her parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, “as individuals instead of as parents.”

The family reportedly had a rift in 2022 following Billy’s divorce from Tish after 28 years of marriage. However, Miley confirmed during the interview she’s not estranged from her father anymore, noting, “I think timing is everything.” Besides supporting his new romance with Hurley, she also gushed over her mom finding love again. Miley said, “My mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore.”

Miley Cyrus further added about her parents, “I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing.”
